Mario Kart Wii has managed to last a very long time. I don't think it's the best battle mode in the series, but it was filled with creative new ideas that should totally be revisited in future games. The new battle mechanics work here, I see what the developers were going for. The desert stage is forgettable but it's good too.

Maple Treeway is probably my favorite in the entire game, but Koopa Cape is up there too. But many of these stand out as some of the best in the series. Pretty much every character and kart can be unlocked just by playing through Grand Prix and Time Trials, and every notable achievement is rewarded with something.
